Safer Swaps for Skin-Contact Products

🧼 Personal care:

  • Go fragrance-free or essential-oil scented only.

  • Simplify: many people find that a handful of products (castile soap, jojoba oil, shea butter) can replace dozens of conventional items.

🧺 Laundry:

  • Choose detergent free from dyes, fragrances, and optical brighteners. Look for “free & clear” or EWG Verified versions.
  • Skip fabric softener and dryer sheets. Instead, use:
    • Wool dryer balls (add a drop of essential oil if scent is desired).
    • 1/2 cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle to soften clothes and remove soap residue.

  • Choose untreated cotton or GOTS-certified organic fabrics when replacing sheets or towels.
