Where to Sample (And Where to Avoid)
Proper location selection is critical. Good samples come from undisturbed dust—not recent spills or moldy corners.
Where to Sample:
- Top of door frames and moldings
- Upper shelves, dressers, and entertainment centers
- HVAC return vents
- Behind or under furniture in main living areas
- High and low spots across each floor of the home
Where NOT to Sample:
- Bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry rooms
- Areas with visible mold or water damage
- Recently cleaned or dusted surfaces
- Construction zones (e.g., drywall dust or renovation sites)
- Rusty surfaces, heaters, or high heat areas
