Where to Sample (And Where to Avoid)

Proper location selection is critical. Good samples come from undisturbed dust—not recent spills or moldy corners.

Where to Sample:

  • Top of door frames and moldings
  • Upper shelves, dressers, and entertainment centers
  • HVAC return vents
  • Behind or under furniture in main living areas
  • High and low spots across each floor of the home

Where NOT to Sample:

  • Bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry rooms
  • Areas with visible mold or water damage
  • Recently cleaned or dusted surfaces
  • Construction zones (e.g., drywall dust or renovation sites)
  • Rusty surfaces, heaters, or high heat areas
