Noise Considerations and Day/Night Use

CR Boxes are powerful—but like any fan-based purifier, they make noise. Fortunately, you can adjust them based on your tolerance and schedule.

Managing noise while maintaining air quality:

  • Use higher fan speed during the day to flush out pollutants quickly. This is especially useful during cooking, cleaning, or allergy season.
  • Switch to low speed at night, especially in bedrooms. Most people find the “low” setting equivalent to white noise—and even that level of air movement still provides meaningful filtration.
  • If noise is still a concern, consider placing the box a few feet from the bed or desk, or experiment with sound-absorbing materials around it (just don’t block airflow).
  • Avoid turning units off completely, especially during high-risk periods like pollen season, post-remediation, or illness outbreaks.

For mold-sensitive individuals or those with CIRS or allergies, 24/7 operation is often key. The goal is to maintain clean air, not just occasionally clean it—because exposures often happen when we least expect them.
