Regular Dusting – The Forgotten Surfaces
Even in homes with strong routines, many high and hidden surfaces tend to get overlooked. Dust accumulates on these areas slowly but steadily, and because they’re often near vents or air movement, they contribute to airborne particle levels when disturbed.
Commonly forgotten places to dust:
- Tops of door and window trim
- Ceiling fan blades and motor housings
- Cabinet tops, appliance surfaces, and picture frames
- Baseboards, blinds, and the tops of curtain rods
- Behind headboards, under beds, and around electronics
Plan to dust these areas at least once per month, using the tools recommended in Lesson 6.2. Use a step stool or extension duster as needed—but always be careful not to knock dust into the air. Follow up with vacuuming or damp wiping to ensure particles are fully removed.
