Ceiling and Oscillating Fans for Air Circulation
Ceiling and oscillating fans are simple but powerful tools in your dust control plan. When used correctly, they can help prevent stagnant air and support your air filtration system by keeping particles moving toward filters instead of allowing them to settle on surfaces or stay suspended in corners.
Using ceiling fans:
- In warm weather, run fans counterclockwise to push air down and create circulation.
- In cooler months, reverse them to clockwise at low speed to gently pull air upward, creating a convection current that keeps warm air and particles moving without stirring up dust.
Using oscillating fans:
- Place oscillating fans in rooms without ceiling fans or in corners where air tends to stagnate.
- Use them in tandem with HEPA filtration units to encourage air movement across the room and guide airborne particles toward the filters.
Fans help maintain constant airflow, which reduces the buildup of airborne dust and helps your filtration system clean the air more efficiently. Just be sure to dust fan blades regularly—dirty fans can become part of the problem if neglected.
