Step 3: Fogging for Dust Suppression (Optional but Helpful)

⚠️ Only fog for dust suppression. Do not use antimicrobial or disinfectant products unless directed by a professional. We’re not “killing mold”—we’re removing particles.

Fogging Steps:

  1. Protect sensitive itemsCover electronics, fabrics, and moisture-sensitive surfaces with 1-mil painter’s plastic secured with painter’s tape.
  2. Use the right equipment and solution
    • ULV fogger (cold-mist preferred over thermal)
    • Approved non-toxic surfactant (e.g., AeroSolver, Remedy, HavenClean)
    • Follow all product-specific instructions
  3. Fog the room
    • Use a slow, sweeping motion to lightly fog the air in each area.
    • Focus on open air and corners—not directly on surfaces.
  4. Let particles settleWait 30–60 minutes after fogging to allow particles to drop onto surfaces.
  5. Remove plastic sheeting carefullyRoll plastic inward to trap particles and dispose of it in sealed trash bags.
  6. Wipe any leftover residueLightly damp wipe any visible fogging residue from glass or non-porous surfaces.

Safety Tip: Always wear PPE while fogging, even with non-toxic products. If you are chemically sensitive or unsure about the product, have someone else perform this step or skip it entirely.
