When to Consider Further Investigation or Specialist Input

Sometimes the initial inspection uncovers signs of deeper issues. This could include:

  • Suspected contamination in inaccessible cavities (walls, ceiling voids)
  • HVAC systems that appear compromised or have visible microbial growth
  • Structural water damage not fully explored in the first visit
  • Ongoing symptoms with no clear source yet identified

In these cases, your IEP may suggest a follow-up inspection, additional sampling, or bringing in other specialists—such as an HVAC hygienist, a building envelope expert, or a remediator for targeted demo.

This isn’t a failure—it’s a deeper level of investigation. The earlier findings help guide where to look next.
