Setting Expectations for Pets, People, and Privacy
The inspection process is often quiet and methodical, but it involves moving through the entire home—including bedrooms, closets, and storage areas.
Plan ahead to:
- Secure pets in a separate area or off-site
- Minimize distractions by limiting other household activities during the inspection
- Ensure privacy by preparing family members for the IEP’s need to inspect bedrooms, bathrooms, and other personal areas
- Allow time—a full inspection may take several hours or more depending on the size of the home and complexity of findings
The more focused the IEP can be, the more thorough and accurate the results will be.
