DIY and Natural Solutions

In addition to commercial products, several natural and DIY methods can assist in controlling indoor humidity:

  • Houseplants: Certain plants, like peace lilies and Boston ferns, can absorb moisture from the air.
  • Salt or cat litter: Placing bowls of these materials in damp areas can help absorb excess moisture.
  • Improved ventilation: Regularly opening windows and using exhaust fans can reduce humidity levels.
  • Drying clothes outdoors: Whenever possible, dry laundry outside to prevent adding moisture to indoor air.

Note: While these methods can be helpful, they are most effective when used in conjunction with other humidity control strategies.
